In Memory of Natasha Marie Kraus
On May 2nd 2022, we lost our bright light Natasha unexpectedly. Natasha moved up to Skagway in 2019 and started working with us at Beyond Skagway Tours. We instantly knew she was going to be phenomenal employee and dear friend. She had such an infectious personality, and quickly became a beloved member of the community. Natasha loved kids, and ended up working at both the local Daycare and as a substitute teacher at the school, changing many of the young lives here in Skagway. Over the past few years she became known as “Skagway’s Little Sister”, as her kind spirit touched everyone in town. We were so excited to have her back on the team, as she was a phenomenal tour guide, and one of our best friends and biggest supporters. Our hearts are broken, but we count ourselves blessed to have such a truly amazing person in our lives. We love you our sweet angel.
The Tale of Two Families
“The year was 1968. Traveling “North to Alaska”, from OR to AK on the Alaska Hwy., all gravel and pot holes and the beginning of a grand adventure. Moving to Fairbanks, then building our log cabin homes in the deep woods, changed each of our lives. Hauling firewood and water taught us self sufficiency.
There were no computers, no cell phones and no Facebook. Hard work and exploring combined to give us the foundation for who we are today. It was a good life. Alaska continues to offer us adventure and the same love of hard work that we learned all those years ago. It’s with pride, that I work with my daughters, Kate and Meghan, to offer tours going “Beyond Skagway”, to show you the wilderness that we grew up loving”.
