Ride the Rail Tour
Overview
All aboard! Add a scenic journey on the White Pass and Yukon Route to your Emerald Lake tour.
Travel the historic route of the Klondike Gold Rush stampeders as you climb over White Pass, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and rich history.
The train ride adds approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to your day and is a memorable experience for guests of all ages.
We offer several options for incorporating the train into your tour, depending on how much time you’d like to spend exploring and what additional activities interest your group.
Time
7:30AM Departure Times for the 7:55am Skagway to Fraser train, followed by the 6 hour Emerald Lake Tour, returning to Skagway at 3:30PM.
9:15 meeting time and a 9:30am Departure for the 6 hour Emerald Lake tour, followed by the 3:25 Fraser to Skagway train, arriving back in Skagway at about 5:30PM.

Train tickets are subject to availability and are not included in the initial tour price.
To book your tour, please contact us by phone or email. At the time of booking, let us know your preferred train time (morning or afternoon), the number of guests in your party, and how many are adults vs. children.
The White Pass and Yukon Route requires passport information to confirm train tickets. Once your reservation is in progress, we will collect each guest’s full name, date of birth, passport number, and country of origin.
After tickets are secured, the cost of the train tickets will be added to your reservation.

All of our tours are private, and pricing is based on your group size.
Railway tickets are priced per person and are not included in the initial tour rate. Ticket costs will be added to your reservation once availability is confirmed through the White Pass and Yukon Route.

Sample Morning Train Itinerary
7:20 AM: Meet your guide, who will be wearing a blue coat and holding a “Beyond Skagway” sign, at the end of your ship’s pier, just past port security.
Head North, through historic downtown Skagway. Listen, while your guide weaves the story of the Klondike Gold Rush of ’98. View notable historical buildings and hot spots to visit after your tour. Cruise over White Pass, passing and/or stopping at these various viewpoints.
9:45 AM: Morning train arrives in Fraser to begin Emerald Lake Tour Continuing north, scan for wildlife and pass by or stop at these scenic points for photos! Tutshi Lake (look out for mountain goats!) Tagish Lake Yukon Sign Bove Island Carcross Desert Emerald Lake – Our Turnaround
12:00 PM: Approximate timing for lunch in Carcross for morning train riders 12:30 PM: Head south on the same highway, enjoying a completely different view as you now watch the snowy and heavily glaciated north faces of the White Pass mountains
1:00 PM: Morning train riders head south
3:30 PM: Morning train riders arrive back in Skagway via van
Sample Afternoon Train Itinerary

10:30 AM: Canadian Customs; be prepared with your PASSPORTS handy!
12:00 PM: Carcross for lunch (not included in price) Enjoy lunch at one of two vendors in town or ask us about a picnic lunch!
1:00 PM: Head south on the same highway, enjoying a completely different view as you now watch the snowy and heavily glaciated north faces of the White Pass mountains slowly unfold before you.
3:00 PM: Arrive in Fraser and board the southbound White Pass & Yukon Rail train
3:30 PM: Group departs Fraser
5:15 PM: Arrive back in Skagway via White Pass rail. We will always be available for rides back to your ship! A walk back through downtown Skagway is optional.
